We are living in a rapid and changing world. As we are living with stress and anxiety due to COVID 19, this program helps us meet the current challenges.

The MBSR online/live program can help us to keep our psychological balance while providing concrete mindful tools to become more resilient in our world and the difficulties we face today.  Many participants have found the online MBSR program effective and engaging. The program provides the intimacy of being invited into each other’s home. It also supplies and gives us great connection and communication between participants despite real physical distance. Internet meetings using Zoom offers us a truly interesting medium.

We will practice mindfulness in many forms and there will be the opportunity for small group sharing and asking questions. After each class you will receive a set of daily home practices for you to experience on your own time and in the privacy of your home. These daily exercises will guide you in a deeper and unique MBSR experience. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is learning about being mindful, which means mastering being more present in our lives. It seems very simple and at the same time not so easy to attend to. Instead of living our lives on autopilot, we will familiarize ourselves with being more aware physically, emotionally and intellectually.

We will acquire skills to be more focused in our day-to-day lives, and grasp how to pay attention in a clearer and healthy way. Focus and attention are at the core of mindfulness. We will use the Zoom video-conference-platform, (you do not need to have an account with Zoom for this program, only high speed internet). You will receive an acceptance email, including an invitation, where you will find a link to click on, which will directly prompt you into our Zoom session. Nothing else to it! It will be very simple. It is imperative that you attend all MBSR classes in the program, but in case of you do have to miss one, a recorded session can be provided to you personally.

What is required of you during the course:

  • Participate to all eight classes, and the retreat class (all of these are on line)

  • Practicing daily approximately one hour.

  • Stay curious about this live exploration.

  • Stick with it for 8 weeks.

What technology you will need:

  • High-speed-internet-connection

  • Laptop or desktop with speaker, microphone and video capability (very important)

  • Please do not use phone or tablet as it is difficult to follow the session on a very small screen.

NOTE: If you are not technology savvy no worries. We will cover technology information at the orientation class. Many people, like some of us, are discovering Zoom during these trouble times, so no stress!

My classes are free of charge as it is part of my personal research program. The only requirement asked to the participants is that they must answer a few questions in an anonymous survey at the end of each of the 8 sessions. All this will be done with Zoom in a very simple way. These questions will examine the individual’s experiences within the program, and the privacy of the participant’s response is completely respected. The second requirement is that I am asking everyone to commit in attending each and every of the 8 MBSR on line classes.

The online MBSR class is limited to 12 people only. As we have only a few participants, I am asking you to check on dates and times before sending your application.

After I will receive your application, you will receive an email from me, letting you know about your acceptation to the program. The first applications will receive the first attention. However, before you register, please take time to visit my website and familiarize yourself with the MBSR program.

The online LIVE SESSION is very similar to the eight- week course that I have done in the past years in schools and universities. It is the same curriculum designed by Jon Kabat Zinn. Please visit MBSR Program Syllabus by clicking here.

I believe that watching all videos on my website may be helpful for you to have a better idea of what is Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and the world of mindfulness. You will find videos from Jon Kabat Zinn (founder of MBSR), or Richard Davidson, (founder of the center for the Healthy Minds), and Daniel Siegel (founder of Mindsight Institute) to name only few of them.
